Hatha Yoga Teacher Training In India

The hatha yoga is introduced in the 15th century in India by a great yogic sage named Yogi Swatmarama. This style is of yoga is believed to be the basic or classical style of yoga and the other styles of yoga like Bikram Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Kundlini Yoga have originated form style of yoga. So it helps build a strong foundation to start yoga; prepares the body for other styles of yoga that may require higher stamina, flexibility and focus, etc.
The word Hatha represents Sanskrit terms; Ha (Sun) and tha (Moon). Thus Hatha Yoga is supposed to unite the opposite sides or energies in the system. It gives emphasis on third and fourth steps or limbs of eight-limbed or eight-fold yoga which are Aasna and Pranayama respectively. Hatha Yoga brings balance between body and mind through Asanas (Poses), Pranayama (Breathing Exercises) and Meditaiton (Dyana). Asanas refer to body postures designed to stretch and strengthen muscles and body organs that improves health and prevents from various health issues. These asanas are not only physical poses but also have relation to the divinity; they also give you non-physical benefits such as promotes will power, focus and self-withdrawal.
Pranayama is combination of two words “Prana” (life-force) and “Ayama” (to control). So the practice is for breath control. It plays a great role in Hatha Yoga. Yogis of old time believed that controlling breath builds the foundation to control one’s mind. Pranayama also helps activate the dormant or blocked energies in the body.
Meditation is focused state of mind usually practiced with closed eyes. Asana and Pranayama prepare you for this practice which is supposed to be the path to achieve enlightenment.
